ERASMUS+ POLICY STATEMENT
(2021-2027)
UIF's strategy and objectives in relation to participation in the Erasmus+ activities and contribution to the modernization of the institution, and on the goal of building a European Education Area.
The University of Insurance and Finance (UIF) fully accepts and supports the EU's higher education policy for modernization and internalization and thus contributing to the goals of a European Education Area laid down in the communication on "Strengthening European Identity through Education and Culture" published ahead of the EU Leaders" meeting in Gothenburg on 17 November 2017, as well as supports the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, recognizing the importance of higher education for economic and social development.
UIF's mission is to provide high-quality education and prepare well-trained professionals who can meet the needs of the national and European labor market. We believe that working with other European universities through joint participation in EU education programs will help us fulfill our mission, improve the quality of education, and improve our governance and administration.
UIF has developed a clear internationalization and modernization strategy as a part of its Institutional development strategy. Some of the main objectives set out in this strategy are:
- development of curricula corresponding to the UIF's educational mission and its systematic updating in accordance with the development of the respective scientific field and the changing requirements of the labor market;
- expanding the contacts with other higher education institutions in the country and abroad, unification of the criteria for assessing the knowledge and skills of students by using the system for accumulation and transfer of educational credits, and mutual recognition of exams and diplomas for higher education.
- active exchange of students, doctoral students, and lecturers in international educational programs.
- encouraging and supporting the exchange of lecturers with other universities in the country and abroad to share professional experience and good practices in the educational process.
- providing opportunities for the students for national and international internships and supporting the professional realization of the graduates and their career development, by maintaining lasting ties with business, employers, professionals, and other organizations;
- innovation and digitalization of higher education processes through extensive use of new technologies and available tools related to higher education activities, including Erasmus+, at the European level.
We believe that the international experience in higher education creates high high-quality academic culture. Owing to that, one of our main goals is establishing and developing academic partnerships at the national and European level, combined with participation in multilateral projects in partnership with European and international higher education institutions and other organizations.
The UIF's objectives of participation in the program are as follows:
- develop cooperation with partners in other countries in the framework of a UIF's strategy for internationalization and modernization;
- promote and support student and staff mobility, especially for individuals with fewer opportunities, and further develop non-discrimination policies]
- pursue a clear policy towards the development of integrated, transnational teaching activities (joint courses/modules/curricula, double/multiple/joint degrees) and modernize the development of curricula;
- Give more support to teachers and recognize the importance of, and provide visibility to, the results achieved by UIF's staff members engaged in individual mobility or in cooperation projects with strategic partners, and remove obstacles to the recognition of qualifications.
- Take into account the results of internal monitoring of European and international mobility and cooperation activities to date, thus further improving UIF's international performance.
- drive innovation in education in the digital era and promote internationalization in digital learning;
- Reinforce strategic cooperation and partnerships, especially for innovations, capacity building, and the exchange of good practices.
